Let the Flower Bloom: The Cannabis Policy

It’s often strange to think of the substance known as marijuana as being derived from a plant since there are so many myths and mysteries surrounding the well-known drug. But, the cannabis plant has actually been utilized for centuries and its presence in everything from hemp-based products to treatments for menstrual cramps has kept it at the periphery of the health scene.

Fortunately, as the popularity of CBD oil and marijuana seeds surges and the laws around legalization continue to change around the world, there is even more potential to be found in this powerful plant. There are several varieties of seeds available. Strains like Grape Ape Kush, White Rhino, Northern Lights and so many more.

While it may once have had a reputation that was associated with its arguable addictive potential and its stoner appeal in movies like Dazed and Confused and Pineapple Express, what cannabis is really about, is changing rapidly.

Though there have been many changes in recent years to cannabis’ reputation and its use all over the globe, things are heating up for the popular, plant-based substance. There is still a lot of research that needs to be done into cannabis-based substances like CBD oil and medical marijuana. But fortunately, there are numerous studies that show the potential of this once-maligned plant in working as a powerful treatment for many of the ailments that affect the body.

What is Cannabis?

Most people are aware of the wide-ranging issues surrounding marijuana, but the substance itself is actually a nettle from the Cannabaceae family. The famous plant also includes three species of plant: cannabis sativa, cannabis ruderalis and cannabis indica. While the reputation of marijuana has long sat on the periphery due to its status as a recreational drug, there are numerous properties contained within cannabis that make it full of potential, with a long list of health benefits.

High CBD cannabis strains are commonly used for medical needs, given its low concentration of THC, whereas pure cannabis sativa and indica strains, more commonly found among medical marijuana, provides the high commonly associated with recreational marijuana. It’s still a lesser-known hypothesis, but substances like cannabidiol (known as CBD oil) can actually work in tandem with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is made up of CB1 and CB2 receptors.

As a result of this ability, it is believed that medical cannabis can positively impact this system, which is responsible for regulating everything from sleep patterns to mood to issues related to pain and inflammation, according to a research by marijuana doctors. CBD oil and marijuana seeds are for sale for their health benefits.

Cannabis Laws Around the Globe

Given marijuana’s push into the mainstream, things are rapidly changing in the United States for the well-known substance. According to a recent Gallup poll, 64% of Americans support legalizing marijuana for both recreational and medicinal use, a staggering number given the 12% approval the same question garnered when it was first asked in 1969. Several regions (like Canada or parts of the US) even allow customers to buy weed online (like HERB!) whereas on the other hand, rest of the places are far from even considering legalizing marijuana. While states like California, Nevada, Maine and Massachusetts approved recreational use in 2016, there are 29 states that have legalized medical marijuana in some form.

Unfortunately, it is marijuana’s status as a Schedule 1 drug with addictive potential that has created many of the issues surrounding legalization. Fortunately, the state of marijuana in other places around the world is always changing too. In Australia, the laws around marijuana are quite strict and it’s difficult to get approval for medical marijuana, but this is expected to change soon.

While possession in Switzerland has recently been decriminalized, Argentina is one of the most progressive countries in the world due to campaigning for medical marijuana on the part of its citizens.

What Does the Future Hold?

There are things changing all the time in regards to the status of both recreational and medical marijuana. Fortunately, while things are looking up for Canada in terms of federal legalization in the short-term future, the tide is also rapidly turning around the world for the potent plant. The image associated with cannabis was once one of disenfranchisement and apathy, but the health potential of CBD oil and the utility of cannabis for medicinal purposes is leading to a different perception.

Though research has been challenging given the classification of cannabis in many countries, there’s proof that it can help to maintain body weight and regulate mood patterns, as well as assist in helping broken bones heal more quickly. There’s also much potential for its cancer-fighting abilities with research indicating that it may assist in fighting, and perhaps even prevent, the disease.

Fortunately, as cannabis policy continues to shift and the amount of money invested in the industry continues to increase, there’s bound to be plenty of health potential revealed in the long term.

Whether you’re interested in researching on how to grow your own weed or you want to try out the newly popular substance CBD oil, there are plenty of ways to see how this powerful plant can provide a health boost to you. Given the amount of investment in this Cannabis industry and every increasing job opportunities in it, it’s a safe bet that whatever benefit you’re looking for from the multi-faceted plant, the wait for what’s next is not going to be too long.
